Solna Gymnasium is one of Sweden's largest sports high schools, where half of the students are enrolled in National Sports Education, collaborating with organizations such as AIK. We have many exciting and interesting partners that allow students and staff to make important connections within higher education, business, and sports.

Our Offer

  • A stimulating and professional environment where sports and education collaborate.
  • Access to modern training facilities and a dedicated team of coaches and teachers.
  • Secure employment with good working conditions and individual salary setting.
  • A meaningful job where you contribute to students' learning.
  • Be part of the development work taking place in Solna.
  • Good collegial cooperation and knowledge exchange where you can grow in your professional role.

About the Position

As an NIU coach, you will be responsible for planning, implementing, and following up on daily swimming training for high school students. You will work closely with the school's other special sports teachers, coaches, subject teachers, and external partners such as swimming clubs and federations.

You will actively contribute to a holistic perspective where training, recovery, and studies are balanced to promote long-term development at an elite level. As an NIU coach at Solna Gymnasium, you will be responsible for the students' dual careers, both academic and athletic development. Our swimmers represent several different clubs in Stockholm, contributing to a developing environment. The position includes mentorship for our swimmers.

Who Are We Looking For

We are looking for someone who has:

  • documented coaching education through relevant higher education, nationally or internationally, and/or the Swedish Swimming Federation's education ladder.
  • experience in leading and developing swimmers at junior or senior levels.
  • knowledge of training planning, technique and performance development, and sports science principles.

We wish for you to be licensed, and if you are not yet, a plan will be established for that. An active coaching license from the Swedish Swimming Federation is an advantage. If you are a licensed special sports teacher in swimming, this is also an advantage.

Your leadership is based on the belief that all students can and want to develop. Your teaching is based on a pedagogical approach and proven experience that allows you to create good learning environments. As a person, you are responsive to students' needs, clear, respectful, and have a strong ability to collaborate with both students and colleagues. You should have the ability to build good relationships with youth, colleagues, and the sports community. Furthermore, you will plan, organize, and prioritize effectively, ensuring that all processes are completed with good quality.
